Chapman Tate Associates seeks an IBM i / System i Technical Consultant to join this leading IT Services and Consulting business, whom are dedicated to making the difficult feel easy for their customers. As an IBM Platinum Partner they deliver a range of solutions around the IBM Midrange (Power i, AIX, High Availability) to the enterprise market space.
Working within an established and growing IT Solutions Services team, this role will be pivotal in acting as a conduit between the Technical and Sales team, assisting a number of existing customers evangelise and transform their IT Infrastructures.
You will play a critical role in developing, designing, and implementing IBM i based Systems infrastructure and associated solutions around Storage and High Availability Environments.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing IBM i / Power based Systems architecture, ensuring optimal performance, and providing technical expertise to support the organization's growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain IBM i Systems infrastructure to meet business needs.
- Analyze and identify opportunities for improvements in IBM i Systems architecture, including hardware, software, and firmware.
- Collaborate with the development and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth integration of IBM Power Systems with other applications and systems.
- Monitor IBM Power Systems performance and recommend optimization techniques to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex IBM Power Systems issues, including hardware and software failures.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to IBM Power Systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing System IBM i infrastructure
- Strong technical knowledge of IBM i Systems architecture, including VIOS based solutions
- Expertise in IBM Power Systems hardware, firmware, and software configurations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex IBM Power Systems issues
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
