Our client is seeking a highly skilled RPG Developer who has experience with RPG versions 1, 2, 3, or 4, and also possesses front-end development experience using Java Grails. Key Responsibilities:
- RPG Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using RPG versions 1, 2, 3, or 4. Work on existing systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement new features as required.
- Java Grails Development: Contribute to front-end development projects using Java Grails, integrating modern web applications with legacy RPG systems.
- System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between back-end RPG systems and front-end Java Grails applications.
- Project Participation: Engage in full lifecycle development projects, from initial requirements gathering to deployment and post-implementation support.
- Code Optimization: Optimize and refactor existing RPG code to improve performance and maintainability.
- Documentation: Produce and maintain clear technical documentation for both RPG and Java Grails development efforts.
- Problem Solving: Quickly diagnose and resolve issues within both RPG and Java Grails environments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
Key Requirements:
- RPG Experience: Strong experience in RPG development, specifically with versions 1, 2, 3, or 4.
- Java Grails Experience: Hands-on experience in front-end development using Java Grails, with a solid understanding of web development principles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in both RPG and Java Grails, with a strong understanding of how to bridge legacy systems with modern technologies.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a knack for optimizing and refactoring code.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to work on both legacy and modern systems, adapting to evolving technology landscapes.
- Desirable Qualifications: Any certifications in RPG or Java development would be a plus.
